Meet the Team
Alexander Stonard – Founder
Although originally from the South of England, Alex came to the U.S. surprised by how similar his small, agricultural hometown was to the majority of rural America. Since graduating from the University of Southampton as a First Class Honors Student, Alex has had extensive experience in developing new sensor technologies and has used his credentials to develop Grounded Sensing’s new Soil Probe.
At Grounded Sensing, Alex manages day-to-day business operations, develops financial strategies, and directs the development of the company’s new products. On his downtime, Alex can be found with a camera at his side photographing every exciting thing in sight or knee deep in his garden working off a day’s stress.
Nina Forest – VP of Marketing
Agriculture has always been a focal point in Nina’s life. Nina grew up in a small town in Idaho situated in the heart of potato production in the United States. She graduated from the University of California Davis in June 2020 with a BA in International Relations, concentration in Economics, and minor in Chinese. At Grounded Sensing, Nina plays a pivotal role in design, branding, and digital outreach. When she’s not working, Nina enjoys voraciously reading books, traveling with her family, and incessantly taking pictures of her adorable dog, Toby.
